Multan Sultans MS is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket group, initially owned by Schön Properties. Back in November 2018, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) declared the possession rights of Multan Sultans. The team has been nominally established in Multan and was formed in 2017 to compete at the next season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).  Ali Tareen, Jahangir Tareen’s Son has officially purchased the team. In April 2017, a few weeks after the conclusion of PSL 2 PSL chairman Najam Sethi announced that there is a sixth team at the third season of PSL. Pakistan Cricket Board shortlisted five places to its sixth team. PCB will require responsibility of all player and coach contracts while the people tender process takes place to provide the re-packaged rights of the group. The newest franchise can pick a new name and a fresh city. Until then the team will be called ” The Sixth Team. The Sultans began their inaugural effort on a winning note as they defeated defending champions, Peshawar Zalmi, by 7 wickets in the chase of 152 runs. On 10 November 2018, PCB announced that the agreement which gave franchise rights of the Sultans has been terminated. A joint announcement issued by Simon Properties and the PCB said that rights in respect to the team have returned to the plank.
