Rajshahi Kings are a Bangladeshi franchise T20 cricket team in BPL. The team relies on Rajshahi at Bangladesh and competes in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a Twenty20 franchise cricket contest. Duronto Rajshahi participated in the first two phases of the Bangladesh Premier League in 2011/12 and 2012/13. After the suspension of all BPL franchises following the second season of this league, the Rajshahi Kings were made in advance of the 2016/17 Bangladesh Premier League after a whole shift in the team ownership and direction. They competed in the fourth edition of this BPL in late 2016, dropping in the final to this Dhaka Dynamites. About 6 October 2016, Darren Sammy was announced the captain of the side.

In 2011 Rajshahi Kings previous name Duronto Rajshahi has been captained by Mushfiqur Rahim and also had the likes of Marlon Samuels, Sabbir Rahman along with Mohammad Sami with his side. The group ruled during the league phase, winning 7 of their 10 games, finished on top of the leaderboard. However, they lost to Barisal Burners from the semi-final, ending a positive effort.

Back in 2017/18 Rajshahi Kings replaced the previous icon Sabbir Rahman with wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim because of the celebrity player and retained Mominul Haque, Farhad Reza along with Mehedi Hasan. They signed English opener along with part-time seamer Luke Wright and West Indian top-middle order batsmen Lendl Simmons to offer stability to the very best order and made a one-season contract with Zimbabwe’s Malcolm Waller to give the lower-middle order arise. The Kings began their conquest using a missing to Rangpur Riders and could not completely recover from the ancient defeat. They proceeded to lose matches but procured a few successes. Now in this season, Rajshahi Kings retained Mominul Haque, Zakir Hasan, Mehedi Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman. They signed Afghan leg-spinner Qais Ahmad along with South African Christiaan Jonker pre-draft. In the draft, Rajshahi spanned in-form batsman Soumya Sarkar since their first pick. In the overseas division, they also signed up the likes of Isuru Udana along with Ryan ten Doeschate. Their Head Coach Lance Klusener was present in the Function.
